Praise in the Gates

The Arkansas Institute
of Holy Land Studies

The Arkansas Institute of Holy Land Studies was founded by Dr. Ron Moseley in 1991 as a specialty college in the field of Middle Eastern History. It was birthed from Dr. Moseley’s passion for comprehending the Bible through Hebrew eyes and understanding the land and people of Israel. Great emphasis is placed upon Biblical Judaism as the matrix from which Christianity was brought forth.

The curriculum includes specialization in linguistics (Hebrew, Aramaic, and Greek), Jewish culture, geography, archaeology, and history of the Middle East. "We specialize in only one field–the main field–Israel," Dr. Moseley says. The curriculum is based on the teaching of a consortium of ten scholars, six of whom have Ph.D. degrees from major universities.

The scholars of the Arkansas Institute provide lectures, videos, and personal time in their specialized fields to a limited group of students. A Bachelor of Arts degree and a Master of Arts degree in Middle Eastern History are awarded to those who successfully complete the curriculum.

Dr. Moseley is also pastor of the Sherwood Bible Church near Little Rock. He has led his congregation in learning about the Jewish roots of Christian faith and in developing an appreciation for the Jewish people and the legacy of understanding that they have brought to the world.

Restoration Foundation is pleased to recommend Dr. Moseley’s teaching ministry. We commend his vision and insight in spearheading the development of the Arkansas Institute of Holy Land Studies as a center for bringing academic understanding of the Hebrew foundations of Christian faith to the Christian church.
