Praise in the Gates

Faith Bible Chapel

One of the great churches in the United States that is continually teaching its congregants the importance of the church’s relationship to Israel and the international Jewish community is Faith Bible Chapel in Arvada, Colorado (a suburb of Denver). Pastored by George Morrison, this congregation spares no expense and effort in its Israel Awareness Days, programs that take specific themes about Israel and/or the Jewish community throughout the world and emphasizes the church’s continuing relationship and responsibility toward the Jewish people.

Recent programs have included powerful multi-media programs on the Holocaust and the rebirth of the nation of Israel. Members of the church, including an outstanding group of the youth, write, produce, and stage these events, with powerful acting and polished media presentations. While the programs attract much attention of visitors from across the nation, the intent is to heighten the awareness of the communicants of Faith Bible Chapel of their own intrinsic involvement with Israel and the Jewish people as members of the Christian church.

One of the most spectacular parts of the programs that are a part of Israel Awareness Days is the Israeli folk dancing programs that are presented by church youth. These young people have performed these lively, stirring renditions of traditional Jewish dance for the Israeli Armed Forces in Israel, as well as in other venues. Their training and expertise is obvious, and their enthusiasm is so contagious that it practically overwhelms a congregation.

Pastor Morrison has long been an advocate of the church’s responsibilities toward Israel and the Jewish people. He presents a thoroughly Biblical challenge to those who hear the message that they should join in support of God’s ancient people and stand with them in their struggles for survival and autonomy. He and his congregation stand firmly against anti-Semitism by offering clear presentations of the history of persecution against the Jewish people and by challenging the church to support Jews everywhere.

This Biblical promotion has also created a strong bond between the Jewish community in Denver and Faith Bible Chapel. Rabbis and other Jewish leaders are frequent speakers at Faith Bible Chapel, adding their applause to the open hearts and love of the people from this large congregation.

Restoration Foundation is pleased to recommend the work of Faith Bible Chapel to those who are interested in promoting such programs in their own churches. Contact them at
