Blossoming Rose

Blossoming Rose is a vibrant organization that has ministered effectively to the church and Israel for over eleven years. It focuses on encouraging Christians to demonstrate love for Israel and the international Jewish community and on promoting dialogue and cooperation between Christians and Jews.

Dr. DeWayne Coxon, president of Blossoming Rose has devised and promoted many projects offering practical assistance to Jewish people throughout the world. Among the most recent of these efforts is its promotion of Chabad's Children of Chernobyl project, which is airlifting Jewish children from all three of the eastern European republics which were affected by the Chernobyl nuclear accident and transporting them to Israel.

Most people in the western world are unaware that Chernobyl is located in what was once the heart of the hated Pale of Settlement, the enormous ghetto where Jews were forced to live in the late eighteenth century. Now tens of thousands of Jewish children are suffering from exposure to radiation from the more than 150 tons of radioactive material released in the Chernobyl disaster. Blossoming Rose is helping to raise money to evacuate as many of these children as possible and take them to Israel.

Blossoming Rose also sponsors the Times of Messiah Forum, with dialogue sessions with prominent Jewish and Christian scholars. In 1994 it featured Rabbi Dr. J. Immanuel Schochet and Rev. Dr. Marvin R. Wilson. This year's Forum featured Professor David Bivin, director of the Jerusalem School of Synoptic Research, and Rabbi Boteach, professor at Oxford University.
