Praise in the Gates: Celebrating Doers of the Work
Isaiah 40 Ministry
Isaiah 40 Ministry is an organization which seeks to enlist Christian support for the nation of Israel and to educate the church about historical anti-Semitism and racism.
Kip and Gini Detry of DePere, Wisconsin, founders and directors of Isaiah 40 Ministry, travel throughout the United States to speaking engagements before audiences of all denominations. Their message is one of simple love and reconciliation, seeking to heal breaches between the Christian and Jewish communities caused by Christian Judaeophobia and anti-Semitism.
Their challenging, dramatic presentations include "The Cries of Hanna," a walk through the Holocaust through the eyes of an eight year old girl; "The Courage to Love," a study of rescuers during the Holocaust; and "Christian Anti-Semitism Today," a look at replacement theology, Holocaust denial, and the reemergence of neo-Nazism. Other teachings include, "Stains on the Gown of the Bride," "Wild Olive Shoots," "The Worth of a Person," and "The Authority of the Believer."
Kip and Gini also sponsor a program called "Victory Over Terrorism in Israel," which says to the world, "Israel is not alone!" This project provides Christians an avenue through which they can bless Israel and comfort and speak tenderly to the heart of Jerusalem. They do so by collecting gifts from concerned individuals, churches and organizations and passing them on directly to Hadassah Hospital in Israel for the express purpose of helping to comfort and heal the victims of terrorism.
"During the time of the Holocaust many Christians wanted to help but had no idea what to do," Kip and Gini say. "Now when violence and devastation are being perpetrated against the Jewish people, we can do something to help," they add.
